About
Dr. Thomas Nagel is a specialist in financial market and corporate law. One of his areas of expertise is the Anti-Money Laundering Act, on which he wrote his doctoral thesis and has published numerous practice-oriented articles in professional journals.
Thomas Nagel supports companies in the financial sector with regulatory issues related to licensing proceedings before authorities and self-regulatory organizations, compliance matters, structuring of agreements, and strategic decisions.
Before joining Advoro in 2023, he worked for several years as a lawyer in the Banking & Finance team of a large law firm in Zurich and as a researcher at the Institute of Business Law at the University of Bern. Additionally, Thomas Nagel was seconded to the legal department of a bank in Zurich. His clients benefit from his first-hand understanding of their daily challenges. Since 2020, he has also been a lecturer in compliance at the Swiss Distance University of Applied Sciences (FFHS).
Thomas Nagel studied at the University of Bern (Bachelor 2012; Master 2014; Doctorate in Law 2019 with summa cum laude) and completed a study abroad program at the Université de Nantes (2012). He also holds two certificates from the University of St. Gallen in Finance (2022) and Sustainable Finance (2023).
Thomas Nagel works in German and English and is fluent in French. He is registered with the Zurich Bar and authorized to represent clients in court throughout Switzerland.
